2.241 - And for the divorced women, a lawful provision, a duty upon the pious. 2.242 - Thus does Allah explain to you His signs that perhaps you understand. 2.243 - Have you not seen those who left from their homes in thousands, fearing death? And Allah said to them: Die. Then He gave them life. Indeed, Allah is surely the Possessor of grace upon the people but most of the people do not give thanks. 2.244 - And fight in the way of Allah, and know that Allah is Hearing, Knowing. 2.245 - Who is the one who would lend Allah a goodly loan so He will multiplies it for him many times? And Allah withholds and grants (provision); and to Him you will be returned. 2.246 - Have you not seen the chiefs of the sons of Israel after Musa, when they said to a prophet of theirs: Appoint for us a king in order to fight in the way of Allah; he said: May it not be that you would not fight if fighting is ordained upon you? They said: And why should we not fight in the way of Allah, and we and our children have been evicted from our homes? And when fighting was ordained upon them, they turned away except a few of them. And Allah is Knowing of the unjust. 2.247 - And their prophet said to them: Allah has sent to you Talut as a king. They said: How can he have the kingdom upon us while we have more right to the kingdom than him, and he was not granted an abundance of wealth? He said: Indeed, Allah has chosen him over you, and increased him abundantly in knowledge and in body. And Allah grants His kingdom to whom He wills, and Allah is Vast, Knowing. 2.248 - And their prophet said to them: The sign of his kingdom is that the chest will come to you in which there is peace from your Lord and remnant of what the family of Musa and the family of Harun had left, carried by the angels. Indeed, in that is a sign for you, if you are believers. 2.249 - And when Talut set forth with the soldiers, he said: Allah will be testing you with a river, so whoever drinks from it is not of me, and whoever does not taste it is of me, except one who takes a little with his hand; and they drank from it except a few; and when he had crossed it along with those who have believed with him, they said: We have no power today against Jalut and his soldiers. Those who think that they will be meeting Allah said: Indeed, how many a small party has defeated a large party with the permission of Allah. And Allah is with the patient. 2.250 - And when they went to face Jalut and his soldiers, they said: Our Lord, pour upon us patience and make firm our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people.
